Angie & Marie
Of course I was able to assure them we can do that here in New Zealand.
Thinking it was happening I got an email response: "Thanks for getting back to me, now i know we can do this i will "pop the question" so to speak :) We've been asked by friends here if we would ever turn our civil partnership into a marriage but neither of us thought it was possible. Now that i know it is possible i will get onto asking Marie and then we can discuss together when and how big / small we want it to be etc.
Watch this space because we will be getting back to you :)
Time went on then in September 2020, I was thrilled to get this email: "Yep it's been a while! I popped the question back in 2018 but then life has just gotten in the way of everything, and friends wanted us to have this big massive event and that's not what we want to do etc"
So it was just lovely to get the plans sorted and 10th November 2020 - 8 years after their Civil Union in the UK on 10 November 2012 we got them married.
Having received a day or two before this statement "We are different with each other than most people. "
I really had no idea what to expect.
I was delighted that you can see from the photos the uniqueness of their intimate wedding and they were going home to enjoy cupcakes. Congratulations Angie and Marie.
Thank you so much for having me as your Celebrant.
Definitely another first after 20 years and 2000 weddings.
Wishing you Angie and Marie the very best for your journey together.
PS: I told them about the plans for the big event for all my couples in April 2022.
