Well that is what happened for me on Friday. The first wedding of the day was for Kent and Julia who had travelled with family to New Zealand. (The second for Jeff and Julia).
We headed off to the Botanic Gardens for the ceremony. I was waiting and the mini-van pulled up with everyone on board. I finally got to meet Julia who I had been having a long email conversation with.
Our overseas guests loved our beautiful gardens and everyone had a camera. As the Mother of the bride said, there must be some good ones among them. Two of the guests shared special readings they had with them written in wedding cards. I delivered a ceremony that met their criteria short and sweet. They all said it was lovely.
When I left them, the bride’s multi-talented sister, who is actually living here and a Doctor at Christchurch Public Hospital, showed she was good at giving direction as she directed everyone for the best photos.
Congratulations Kent and Julia. I was so pleased to be sharing your day with you.
