And so it was a delightful wedding at Trent's, that I got to deliver on Friday 4 March 2016. Joanne and Ashley came together with their beautiful daughter Taylor. They have a beautiful family and they were certainly pledging that commitment into the future. The ceremony had a nice mix of sincerity and lightness.
Graeme gave his daughter away to the care of Ashley.
I did tell everyone that Ash's friends know him as being "tight" with money and asked if they knew that on "their first date, Ash asked Jo out for dinner and conveniently he forgot his wallet."
We had two readings - the first by Lynda who read "All I ever really needed to know I learned in Kindergarten".
The second my Michelle who read:
He always leaves the seat up
And onion chippies on the floors
The garage overflows with junk
His clothes don't make the drawers
She's not so clean and tidy
(Though she may sometimes delude -
If you leave your shoes around the place
She soon gets in a mood!)
He likes to potter round at night,
In his manly shed
Whereas she likes to watch the telly
And snuggle into bed
She's thoughtful when he looks at her
A smile upon his face
Will he look that good in 50 years
When his dentures aren't in place?!
He says he loves her sense of humour
And her mental prowess too
But when dementia takes her over
Will she charm with her IQ?
She says she loves his cooking
Even though he only cooks two meals
And of course she thinks he's clever
Especially when he makes good deals
They're both not wholly perfect
But who are we to judge
He can be apathetic
Her opinion she won’t budge!
All that said and done
They have lots of fun together
And I hope as I am sure you do
That this day will last forever.
He'll be more than just her husband
He'll also be her friend
And she'll be more than just his wife
She'll organise him -till the end!
Looking forward to seeing Deb's photos
