Yes every wedding is special. However, this wedding was very special because this bride had been counting the months, the days, the weeks, the hours and the seconds until she would be married. Yes a very excited couple.
The groom was very quiet and I think he was feeling nervous about the ceremony and that is normal, not that many of them want to admit to it.
The bridesmaid’s car arrived first and it had me thinking usually the bride’s car pulls in first, or do they? Not sure now. Again that really doesn't matter. The bride arrived and Vanetia the wonderful wedding coordinator was on hand to reassure the bridesmaids and bride that we were all on track. The brides dress was special and different, suiting her personality perfectly.
We went and started the music and then in came the junior bridesmaid with her bubble gun. An original style of entry. All the bridesmaids and then Carrie and her brother entered.
A quick introduction, the brother sat down and with a few tears Carrie and Greg committed to live together as husband and wife.
I asked for the rings and suggested to the Bestman (a brother-in-law, I think) he could take the cushion out of the box. I will always remember the brother-in-law as he borrowed his wife’s black umbrella with orange spots. It was a very hot day so it was good thinking on his part.
I left after the ceremony with everyone in the shade of the tree congratulating Mr and Mrs Corlett.
They would be into a group photo and family photos next.
Wishing Mr and Mrs Corlett every happiness in their married life.
Thanks for choosing me to share your day.
Wanted to share some of the feedback from Carrie.....
After a magical weekend I would just like to give a big thank you to Vanetia the amazingly lovely hostess from Hampton Lea Gardens for allowing us to use her beautiful gardens and venue for our special day.
Julie Lassen for making myself husband and guests feel at ease and creating a beautiful ceremony for us to declare our love to each other and putting up with all my pesky questions.
Last but not least my amazing friends and Whanau that without the day would not have been as magical as it was and for the love and support they have shown us.
