Terrace Downs a fantastic location for a wedding, however, on this particular
day the wind played havoc.
On the marriage documents the address is written as Terrace Downs, 728 Coleridge Road,
Windwhistle. It is the "Windwhistle" part the caught my attention as the wind fairly
whistled through as I said. Yes the team from Terrace Downs had done a nice job
of laying out the chairs and the flowers and setting the table for the signing of
the marriage documents.
The wind had died down and we all thought this is going to be just perfect.
The bus arrived and the guests arrived as well.
Before the guests got a chance to be seated the wind came in and sent the chairs flying;
the table and chair and table cloth towards the edge and the PA system ended up on
We thought encouraging the guests to be seated would help keep the seats in place.
Then we discovered the wind had broken the PA system and thanks to Jared from
Professional Wedding Videos there was a back up that was retrieved from the
So we made a decision that I would not use the microphone and we waited for the
girls to arrive. I had not met the groom before the day, but I found Brent to be a
good country man and someone you just felt like you had known for a long time.
The girls impressed by each driving in a golf cart.
What followed was a lovely simple ceremony; Georgia shared "The Art of a Good Marriage"
which has important advice. "Remembering the "little things" are the big things and
its never being too old to hold hands. Remembering to say, "I love you" at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry... and it ends with it is not only marrying the right person
it is being the right partner".
I like the declaration Brent and Jessica used... to be your lawfully wedded husband/wife, to shaare
your life openly, standing with him/her in sickness and in health; in joy and in sorrow; in
hardship and in ease; to cherish and love forever more."
Very quickly we got to the signing and the presentation to the guests of Mr and Mrs Ridge.
I had to smile at our Photographer for the day - getting all the guests into a large semi-circle
for a group photo with a spectular background of The Gorge. So looking forward to seeing
