So this was the day that Amy and Damien were marrying and becoming Mr and Mrs Provis.
What struck me about this wedding was that those invitedwere really delighted to be at this event.
They gave a lot of thought to who to invite - a mixture of family and friends. That leads me to
the love and care Amy had with her bridesmaids help, to prepare everything for the wedding.
There were beautiful handmade flower bouquets and buttonholes; handmade flowers on the tables. Special cards to complete for the bride and groom to keep. Yes "A little note for the Bride and Groom
from ................ you enter your name here. They ask if you are enjoying yourself - a 1 and I'm too full of cake or a 10 and that would be nothing could top this.
They then seek your advice - marriage is all about................... again, you are asked to give your ideas.
A little tip over the page with starters of NEVER .............. AND ALWAYS................
This is my best advice - just for you: ..... yes that is the guest’s opportunity to share their own best piece of advice. Finishing with wishing Amy and Damien ................. I am sure it was a happy and loving life together as husband and wife.
To set the scene I told the guests that Damien and Amy's love had already carried them through some of life's trials and tribulations including their completion of their Master's Degrees and Amy's intense year at Graduate School for her teaching. They have provided each other with ongoing love and support.
Louise who I had met before, now living in Wellington read "On your Wedding Day and Aunty Fefe did "A conversation between piglet and pooh bear. Cassie and Meggie did a great job on the final reading "He never leaves the seat up".
Yes lots of opportunities to laugh. Amy promised to indulge his boyish behaviour, letting him watch more sport on the TV, forever teaching him how to properly cook carrots and love him forever of course.
And Damien was not to be left out with promises of getting her hot-water bottles when she has cold feed, pretending to like her girly movies, acknowledging that she is almost always right and loving her forever.
Specially written and read vows finished the ceremony with plenty of bubbles. I think I gave the guests instructions in such a way to get a good display of bubbles for Mr and Mrs Provis.
Thanks Trents for another beautiful wedding and thanks to Amy and Damien for being such a lovely couple to marry.
