On Saturday I had the pleasure of marrying Melissa and Kevin.
Yes uniting them into marriage to become Mr and Mrs van Dorp.
For the last time Melissa used her maiden name, Sehnert and now
will forever be known as Mrs van Dorp.
We had a rehersal which was great as I then knew where I was
heading for the wedding day. I believe we were at an aunty's house, it
has a beautiful garden and is located on Sandy Knowles Road.
Yes in the country.
Saturday 29 November, was a windy day and it was distressing
to see Melissa's uncle sitting down at the gate and an ambulance
pulling up. I have since been told all is well with a stent placed in
straight away. The plan was that the bride Melissa would not be
told that her uncle had left in the ambulance. She apprently had
been told and testament to her character she said the show must
go on, or something along those lines.
So the guests assembled. The music started and in walked
Maddison and a friend from her dance school; then came Amelia and
a friend from her dance school; three bridesmaids (who were
Melissa's Cousins) in my favourite colour and then our bride and her Dad.
Four guests tried lighting candles but the wind was strong and although
they were all going they soon went out.
In a nice simple ceremony Kevin and Melissa promised to love each
other. They also had their unique promises. Melissa agrees to let her
husband watch more V8 super car's on TV.
Their daughters Maddison and Amelia presented the rings.
I left them with the photographers lining them up for photos.
A marquee reception was to follow at 6.00pm.
A delightful wedding.
Thanks for letting me share in your day, Mr and Mrs van Dorp.
