I asked Melissa and Mark, why they chose me when they came to visit. They said it was because of my smile. That was really lovely! It was very easy to smile when you are with lovely people in a very relaxed home setting.
There instructions to me were relaxed, simple, no religion and some funny moments – what an easy list of requests to accommodate.
I know when I meet couples what kind of a wedding day they will have.
I knew Melissa and Mark could expect a day as they requested because their little boy (only 2) Maddyx, played with my toys and entertained himself while we talked. When it was time to go he put the toys away. Such a lovely family of 3 and soon to be 4.
Melissa at 30 weeks pregnant and a Manager at Hell's Pizza was an amazing bride. By the time I arrived she was organised and standing around thinking she will leave it to the last possible minute to put on her dress as it was a little tight. I mingled with the guests and took some photos on my camera as I wanted to be able to share these photos with others. Not all weddings have to expensive affairs with lots of money spent. Being married was the important point for Melissa and Mark, her husband, at the end of the day. Mark is an Engineer and originally from England, such a gentle and loving man. I believe the wedding was $3,000 and you know what they still had me as their Celebrant. I don’t market myself as a “cheap” celebrant , but indeed a professional, smiling and relaxed celebrant.
I will invite Melissa and Mark to say a few words about their wedding day at the end of this blog. They already have the cutest little boy in Maddyx and I believe the baby due in the next week or so is to be a girl. What is also special about this family, they have very supportive parents. They adore Maddyx and I believe there was a surprise for our newly married wedding couple on their wedding night. Also I believe the beautiful wedding cake was iced by Mark's Mum. How special is that? In my book, very special indeed,
Wishing Mr and Mrs Woodcock, the very best in life, as husband and wife and as a family of four.
Melissa shares: "We started planning our wedding with only 7 weeks. it was hands down the most stressful 7 weeks of my life (so far). I never really thought about all the small detail that goes into planning, decorating and making, that goes into it, until the day we started. As stressful as it was, every single second of our wedding day was worth, it in every way possible! I married my best friend, who I plan on being with forever and more. Planning this wedding definitely proved we could count on each other through everything. Our day was perfect right down to the detals of the table scatters. Even though we did have a low budget wedding - it was still exactly how I pictured it as a little girl, it was my dream day. We are both so happy and blessed to have a wonderful group of people in our life and we couldn't ask for more."
Having read that you know why I feel so privledged being the Celebrant for amazing couples.
