I say quirky because that is the term the bride used when she talked about the wedding cake. Doesn’t it look great!
I was asked at short notice to be the Celebrant for Ann and David as the Celebrant who had planned to do it was challenged by the registration not being current. The universe works in mysterious ways as I felt like I was really meant to join this delightful family for this ceremony.
In the ceremony I shared “Martin Luther once said: There is no more lovely, friendly and charming relationship, communion or company than a good marriage.” And also “The Swiss have a great saying, “every pot has a lid that fits.” Ann would like it noted, in this instance she is the lid! To which David said – trust a lawyer to want the last word! – a lid is not much use without a pot to sit on.
But the best part was right before the ceremony began. David surprised his bride by buying a pair of Maher Shoes – yes these designer shoes.
This is what a friend says about these shoes:
"Maher Shoes - one of my favourite brands for men and women. Gorgeous shoes!!! They have a store in Christchurch." Link to their website http://www.mahershoes.com
Men’s and Women’s exclusive designer footwear. Shoes, Heels and Boots
Apparently, Anne had been suggesting for a long time that David should buy some of these shoes.
A lovely surprise - a lovely wedding gift for himself. Nevertheless Ann was delighted.
An awesome couple, an awesome wedding.
Thank you so much for letting me share in your special celebration.
I trust you have a long life together as Mr and Mrs Scott.
