If you take on board these HOT TIPS you will have the most amazing day.
Don’t sweat the small stuff. It is all small stuff!!
Remember if things aren’t right it is you that notices and no one else – everyone else will be having a great time.
If you feel overwhelmed and stressed be sure to get some Rescue Remedy.
Surround yourself with only those people that are positive and supportive about your day.
Your day will go very fast – so relax, enjoy and saviour every special moment.
Even though you may not feel like eating on your wedding day – do force yourself as it will add to your enjoyment of the day.
Delegate as much as you can to ensure you are relaxed on the day and don’t have to rush around. On your wedding day you want and need to be pampered by professionals.
Don’t worry about the weather – it will be what it will be. But do have a wet weather option or invite your guests to bring their umbrellas.
Go into the day and just be present in that special moment and time.
Ensure you have professional people around you who you know will do a good job for you.
Do ask around but do ensure you choose the professionals because you are 100percent happy.
Ensure you have a photograph list to give to your photographer so you capture all those special photos. You never get the day back again.
Try to pay for your wedding in advance so that you go into the day with everyone paid.
If guests are a mixed group of people ensure you have games or some kind of activity to help people to mix.
If it pours with rain don’t be sad as its good for photos and guests will mix well.
Have a video made so you will always have something to look back at.
Ensure you choose a relaxed celebrant as that has a huge impact on you as a couple and your enjoyment of your special day.
Use a microphone at the service if you're outside. The biggest complaint is that people cannot hear because of the wind and big trees.
Don't forget to drink on the day... water. It’s such a busy day so you can get pretty dehydrated by the evening if you don’t.
Wriggle your knees during the ceremony so you dont pass out!! No one can see you are doing it and it keeps the blood flowing if you remember.
Also if booking through the council for the event ring to double check it IS BOOKED so the poor Groom wont show up with people having a picnic in your wedding spot!!!
Make time for each other at the reception as you get caught up talking to everyone else. We had several songs on our play list that when that song came on we'd excuse ourselves and find one another.
Make up an "emergency kit" and give to a bridesmaid to keep at all times i.e. safety pins, panadol, breath mints, those little superglue tubes (my mate had the diamantes fall off her shoes on the day), white thread & needle etc
Put in the guest toilets – flowers and or pamper kit with mints, hairspray, etc.
Try to have as little as possible to do on the couple of days before the wedding and if possible take that time off work too. Of course there will be those last minute things to do but delegate if you can. You really don't want to go into your 'big day' exhausted!
If you are getting married near water always check tides and if near a wharf ferry timetables.
Check any big events that could impact you and your guests – cycle races on the hill or marathons closing roads, Christmas parade.
Have an MC (Master or Mistress of Ceremonies) who look after things for you. Make it known they are the person who sorts everything so you don’t see or hear of anything that might not be right.
Before you leave for your ceremony take a moment to be with your parents or maybe by yourself to be totally present and centred.
Recognise that it is your wedding day and you are looking the best that you can be.
