This blog is not about me getting to the wedding, it is about the amazing wedding of Guy and Camille - getting married in the grounds of Avebury House and enjoying the atmosphere of a relaxed gathering.
They sent a nice Save The Date fridge magnet and Invitation that set the scene.
So their hands were tied as we invited the wedding party of Tim, Renne, Mylinda-Jane and Trevor all forward to honour the virtues of the compass and the elements.
The honour guard of Earth was Renee, our Maid of Honour and she read this before pouring her green sand in the jar. "Blessed be this union with gifts of the North. Firm foundation on which to build, fertility of the earth to enrich your lives, and a stable home to which you may always return." (GREEN/earth)
The honour guard of FIRE, the best man Tim - "Blessed be this union with gifts of the South, Warmth of hearth and home. The heat of the heart's passion. The light created by both to lighten the darkest of times." (RED/fire)
The honour guard of WATER, bridesmaid Mylinda-Jane "Blessed be this union with gifts of the west. The deep commitments of the lake. The sweift excitement of the river. The refreshing cleansing of the rain encompassing passion of the sea." BLUE/water
Finally the honour guard of AIR was the groomsman Trevor. "Blessed be the union with the gift of the east. Communication of the heart, mind and body. Fresh beginning with the rising of each sun. The knowledge of the growth found in the sharing of silences." YELLOW/Air
It would be fair to say, that I did my McGivour act and destroyed the invitation, that I had tucked in my folder and created a funnel. That was in response to Guy saying I should have brought a long a funnel. It worked well.
The rings were exchanged as there hands were still tied, and I congratulate Guy and Camille for achieving that.
Congratulations Guy and Camille, the perfect wedding for you.
The perfect location.
In fact, even though we had one or two challenges, it was perfect because we got you married in your way. Thanks again for inviting me to share in the celebration of your love.
