Yesterday, I had the absolute pleasure of performing the ceremony for Patrick and Mandy and the bonus was I could just go out the door.
I asked after signing the papers, if they were keeping their wedding a secret and they said no. They were going to lunch and then informing family by telephone. I am sure everyone will be as happy as all those present for the ceremony.
Patrick told me he had been watching the weather for the last 12 days and was not very happy with the cold wet Saturday we had. Yes, the day before the wedding ceremony in our Garden. I assured him regardless of the weather we would have got them married. Thanks to my darling husband who made sure things were tidy.
As it was. the day of the wedding, it was nice in the garden, a little wet underfoot. The sun was shining and everyone was smiling.
Ivo a friend was in charge of taking photos. The friends, Faith and Alastair who were witnesses were instructed on how to film the ceremony and take snap shots with the couples camera.
We also had the gorgeous daughter Emily (6 years old) present and holding the responsibility of looking after the rings.
Within 30 minutes the wedding was complete; the photos taken and they were off to have lunch together. Just what an Elopement should be - relaxed, fun and official of course.
