He told me when he arrived that he didn’t sleep at all night he was so nervous.
Pico was excited because today he was meeting his bride Sheila and they were going to
This was my Registry Style Wedding – in a lovely location and the couple sharing what they wanted.
Yes I was to have the honour of performing the ceremony for this couple that are both caregivers here in Christchurch and originally from the Philippines. A nice assembly of guests mainly workers from Maidstone came together to support Pico and Sheila. It was obviously that Pico and Sheila are well loved and treasured.
The only challenge for the guests was finding parks – reduced numbers available because of the work being done on various large sites close by.
Shelia the beautiful bride arrived with her two daughters, Sophia (5) and Rieya (7). It was evident by the interaction between Pico and the girls that there is lots of love and they have a delightful future ahead as a family.
Take a moment to read Pico’s vows – they say it all.
“Today as we walk through this journey of a lifetime commitment as a husband and wife, I promise to give everything to you, my heart, my soul and my name. I thank God he gave you to me, whom I will stand and fight for life. Whom I will protect and carry as the days goes by. Whom I will defend and lift up when everyone seems to be unkind to you and lastly whom I will love and spend the rest of my life for as long as I live, together with our beautiful angels. I love you so much Sheila.”
Everyone loved having their photos taken. Yes, all the guests! I think that when everyone gives Pico and Sheila their individual photos they will have lots of lovely photos to treasure. When I left I had already sent some of the guests indoors and they were finishing doing a few special photos of the couple. I am sure they enjoyed the Curators House lunch together.
Wishing Mr and Mrs Gutierrez (you try pronouncing that) a long and happy life together, as husband and wife.
