Getting to know an amazing couple and having the absolute delight of being their Celebrant.
On the 26th of April, I was honoured to be with Amanda and Jay as they committed to live together in marriage. We were all asked to keep the details secret because of the article to be published in the Women’s Weekly. You will recognise them - they were Team Black on Mitre 10 Dream Home.
The delay in talking about it does not detract from the special day that was theirs. This was a very special marriage ceremony. Two women who love and adore each other said they wanted to be wife and wife. Having those promises witnessed, by 80, close family and special friends.
There is very much a male energy in Jay and it is balanced with the very beautiful feminine energy of Amanda. They knew what they wanted to say to each other and the love just oozed out of them.
As a Celebrant, I listen to many couples share their vows (often repeated after me). For Amanda and Jay, they both took out their piece of paper and read the message from deep in their own hearts.
Today there is that article in the Women’s Weekly on page 24-27. You see beautiful smiling faces of these two amazing women and their three children, with lots of photos. There is even a photo of me marrying the couple.
A very special time in the ceremony was when Jay presented gifts to the three children and said a few words to each one individually. Josh, Bailey and Summer – giving each of them a silver bracelet. It was very much a special part of the special ceremony which was emotionally charged from the beginning.
The rings - that is a story in itself. Needless to say they placed the rings that were not their own and before I left, we had another ring placement session with the real rings, the correct rings!
The photo above, I snapped on arrival of Jay with the amazing cake! The biggest cake I have ever seen!
Tor Sutton sang like an angel and I am going to blog about her very soon. So many special moments.
I was ever so honoured to be with them for their wedding day.
Your wedding Jay and Amanda – a dream come true!
Many blessings to you Jay and Amanda Blair.
