Yes, short notice weddings are great. The couple knows what they want, and I am happy to deliver it just the way they want.
So it was that yesterday, I delivered the ceremony that Pablo and Shelley wanted with two family and close friends present. We were up at the Sign of the Bellbird and were so lucky to have a beautiful day for the wedding. You might not know, but the fire had destroyed the roof of the Sign of the Bellbird. Not as everyone believed being our recent Port Hills Fire. No, this had happened a couple of years ago and was from willful damage.
Back to the wedding Lauryn the beautiful sister and her husband, Paddy had arrived early and prepared with blankets, cushions, hand-warmers and candles. It looked perfect and with the sun shining everyone was in good spirits.
What the guests witnessed very special vows:
Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Godoy - I am sure you will have a long and happy life together as husband and wife.
Can you have a blog PS?
It was truly lovely to see Ms Knight who had been my daughter's very first teacher. A wonderful teacher and she shared that her daughter is now at Otago University and studying to be a primary school teacher. She will make a great teacher just like her Mum and Dad. Her father is now a Principal I believe. From that very early time I have said I would love to get them married. My hope is that I get to do that in a couple of years before I retire. I can hear her laughing as she reads this.
