One of those couples, Tim and Annemarie – got married on our beautiful Port Hills.
They came to New Zealand in May 2007. The 23rd of May was a very foggy and yet windy day as we found the spot and I married them with my two witnesses taking photos.
They came from the Netherlands and in 2007, they were on a seven month world trip.
They flew into New Zealand from Chile, after travelling through Brasil and Argentina first.
Tim remembers “It was indeed foggy and the original place to marry was completely in fog
and we had to drive 100 metres cross the road and climb over a fence to marry.”
Tim also said “We phoned our family from the hotel after the wedding."
I think they were all happy with the exciting news. Perhaps Tim will comment on the blog and tell
us what kind of reaction he got by sharing the news "We have just got married in New Zealand!".
They then kept it a secret from everyone else until they got home.
Travelling to marry here in our beautiful country, was the start of something very special.
They now have three beautiful children and they consider themselves blessed.
They are a very special couple, and will always have a special place in my heart <3 .
Recently the happy couple (Tim and Annemarie) celebrated their 7 year anniversary
(7 jaar geleden: 23 mei 2007.....) and a photo appeared on Facebook of their wedding day.
(I have added many photos from my personal album and not sure if they have ever seen
Best wishes for a long and happy life together Tim and Annemarie and your beautiful family.
I was blessed to have met you and shared in your amazing wedding day.
Best wishes, Julie
