I was delighted with the compliments I had on presenting a lovely funeral service for Shirley.
Glen, her son wrote a lovely piece that was put in the service sheets. I am sure there were many people read it while we waited and the staff at John Rhind, 19 London Street in Richmond, kept getting more and more chairs. Yes everyone was seated and it was a full house.
Having known the Duffield Family for many years, I was honored that the family asked me to deliver the service.
Shirley was the loving wife of the late Morris. A wonderful and loving Mum to Susan and Glen, and mother-in-law to Joanne. A beloved and adored grand-ma to Rebecca, Hannah, Sam and Kate.
Shirley was into highland dancing and her casket draped with her tartan that she danced in and her ken-gorm broach (I know that is not the correct spelling - I had it like that for presentation).
It was a lovely celebration of Shirley's life and a lovely selection of photos showed a unique woman, being true to herself. Rest in peace Shirley. You will be missed by many.
